We shall come back to these exchanges, whether verbal or cartooned, more than once in the following chapters, for they capture in a phrase or two the sense of paradox that must prevail in any discussion of religion in post-war Britain. Read the first page

5.0 out of 5 stars Stats with useful commentary, 4 Dec 2002
By Vexen Crabtree (UK) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
If you want stats with useful commentary... this is it! Statistics on every aspect of Christianities ties with England... Church numbers, qty of churches and congregations, numbers of clergy, with some insightful text and well written notes on what it might mean, plus some commentary on why some of the decline of the Church of England has happened and quite the astonishing rate it has. All stats are broken down into sub-groups and denominations and presented over time since 1945.

There are some minimal statistics on non-Christian religions, but the bulk is about Christianity.
