Zathura, like most of Chris van Allsburg's books, offers great illustrations and few words. Plot and character development are hardly there, unless you allow yourself to use your imagination. Join in actively with your imagination as you read and you get much more from it.

As for this being Jumanji 2, well, it is! The central charters are from the last pages of Jumanji. It was good idea then and at least it was his idea in the first place, not ripped off from another author or source.
