4.0 out of 5 stars A great read, 30 Nov 2003
This is the second in a series, and I wish I had read the other ones! I was intrigued by the experience that the group of chidlren had of war, and of surviving on their own. It is a hard-hitting book, and it deals with some sensitive subjects, so I would only recommend it for older children.
The plot is very exciting and I was compelled to read to the end. This story is far from cheery! I also liked the fact that this is a war book told from a girl's perspective.
