5.0 out of 5 stars IT WILL KEEP YOU TURNING THE PAGES!, 15 Mar 2001
By wlkrkevin@aol.com (Runcorn North West England) - See all my reviews
I walked into a book shop in Manly Australia in 1999 while on holiday, the sales assistant after watching me struggle to find something to read came over to me with Ice Station in his hand. He told me that if I buy this book and I don't like it, he will give me my money back! Hence to say I never got my money back. The book was fantastic from start to Finnish. I have since lent it to my friends and they have all loved it just as much. If you like your books fast and furious, Go and buy this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best of Maclean, 27 April 2006
By Mr. E. Burton (London, England) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This review is from: Ice Station Zebra (Paperback)
This book is about the cold war, suspense, knives in the dark (ok not literally), a race against time, submarines and a showdown on the north pole! Oh and it's good at what it does, very good.

Maclean creates here the perfect suspense thriller. Form the very outset we are launched into the action as the nuclear submarine Dolphin prepares to depart on a mission of mercy to a north pole science station destroyed by a fire, but all is not as it seems.

Straight away things are suspicious, you will find yourself unable to stop turning the pages as you follow the charaters in their attempt to uncover the truth. Twist after twist and revelation after revelation will keep you guessing right up to the end. This is utterly believeable drama you won't be disapointed. I actually find that I believe I am a member of the Dolphin's crew on the mission with them! And its a hellova ride, well worth the investment.

5.0 out of 5 stars Timeless suspense thriller by the master of the genre, 9 Jan 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Ice Station Zebra (Paperback)
This is easily one of the best spy / adventure / crime books of all time. Though I have read it many times over the years and know every detail, I still take it down of the shelf now and then just to immerse myself in a truely first rate novel. Mr. Maclean builds a great story (and I defy anyone to guess who the killer is before he reveals the answer).
