5.0 out of 5 stars Between Parent and Child, 1 Sep 2003
By Imraith-Nymphial (East Yorkshire . UK) - See all my reviews
This is a MUST for parents who are experinceing difficulties with thier childrens behaviour, whatever the childs age. With simple examples and easy to follow explinations it covers all the aspects of childhood behaviour and how communication and achnowledement of a childs feelings can produce a stable, well adjusted, well rounded and individual with thier own humane autonomous direction.

It gives weight to the theory that children can be guided by parents towards governing their own behaviour without punative consequences, thus creating a more humane character without using a hurtful or injurous lexicon.

Mr Haim offers parents a new language of decriptive feelings which release a child from guilt and worry usually instilled by a parents attempts at behaviour modification. As a mother of six children of varied age, I have really found this book helpful.

It should be read in conjunction with the books written by two members of Mr Ginotts parent research group, Adele Faber and Elaine Mazlish, which offfer further examples and personal experience of some of the problems faced by parents.
