The Man Who Loved Clowns is the best children's book I have ever read. The character of Delrita realistically shows the reader what it is like to live with someone who is handicapped. Punky shows us that though some people look different or are not as intelligent as most people, they contribute significantly in many ways to the lives of others. What a lesson for all of us! Mrs. Wood writes from her heart, sharing her own experiences growing up with a brother with Down's Syndrome. Mrs. Wood is a great author to have visit your school. Her presentation is exceptional.

I have two brothers with Down's, and this book echoed loud and clear just how special and unique they really are. It made me cry so so much but in a heart, warming and loving way! June Rae Wood clearly writes from experience, and its story is wonderful! I am 19 and love this book, please read, it will warm your heart!

I have a child with Downs and this book was an absoulute joy to read, it made me laugh,and cry my eyes out. Punky had a delightful niece who loved him and cared for him to the max. Even though it is aimed at children, all the adults in our family have read it! Not to be missed especially if the subject is close to your heart and a good book for kids to read to gain a better understanding of Downs Syndrome\Learning Disabilities.5*
