5.0 out of 5 stars Magic and wittiness combined in a wonderful adventure!, 25 Jun 2000
By A Customer
Part three of the Prydain Chronicles is to my opinion the most funny in the series. It centres around the Princess Eilonwy who must go and learn to be a lady and will have to face the powers of her magical heritage. When she is abducted, her loyal friends including Taran, Gurgi, Fflewddur and Gwydion begin a quest to her rescue which means a lot of fun and adventure. "The Castle of Llyr" also deals with Taran's feelings concerning Eilonwy, for the Princess is about to be betrothed with Prince Rhun of Mona, a young man who means well, but is horribly clumsy. In this trilling adventure Taran fears to loose not only Eilonwy's freedom, but also her heart. A wonderful story!

(REAL NAME)
The third book of the Prydain chronicles, the Castle of Llyr introduces a new character, Eilonwy, a strong headed young girl that almost get the better of Taran. He has never met anyone so stubborn and they constantly get on each other's nerves as they flee from the castle and the evil Arachne.
But will a princess want to travel with a mere pig keeper's boy?

Alexander's books are marvellous and he creates his own fantasy style, long since established in the hearts and minds of us fantasy lovers.
