5.0 out of 5 stars A treasure chest of information for the would-be woodworker, 13 April 2002
They say "good things come in small packages" and this is the book that proves the rule.
This small but beautifully formed book is destined to appear on the shelf of every woodworking apprentice. Unlike other books on the topic of woodworking it keeps things remarkably simple, using easy to read text and loads of colour photos to take you step by step through the construction of the most common woodworking joints.
What's more, having guided you easily through the theory and explained the basic tools necesary, it then gives you plenty of opportunity to put it all into practice with four easy to make yet stylish projects - by the time you've flicked through the book you'll be producing custom made items by the bucket load!
Ok, so if you're a seasoned woodworking veteran you won't get much out of this little gem, but if you're new to the workshop and just want to start truning out useful and attractive household items this is the book for you.
One word of warning though........ if you have a lot of friends in the local constabulary, be careful where you leave the book...... the title might just give them the wrong impression of the content!
