This book was brilliant in every way which surprised me as I only bought it because the author is a local girl. It has battles, magic and mayhem weaved throughout it's spectacular 600+ pages. One of those rare books that will appeal to children and adults. The characters are believable, with a hint of vunerability that makes you care about what happens to them. Putting the first 3 books into one volume was a smart move, giving the reader a greater insight to the world and people the writer created. If these stories are not picked up for a movie deal it would be a crying shame. I only want to know one thing; when is the next part coming out?!! My advice is buy it now.

I was eager to read this book after reading such good review about it on amazon.
I found the story easy to follow and loved the characters, particularly Gregory and Grace and the little pixies that lived with Amber.
The author has weaved an incredible story which is an amazing read especially for the younger reader. Its a great first book for anyone getting into fantasy books.
The only thing I did note (not on a negative) was that in parts it is very similar to harry potter, although having said that, what fantasy involving wizards and witches isnt?
A Brilliant book, I definately recommend.

loved the whole book from beginning to end. non stop action, great battles, laughter and sadness. This book has it all, can't wait for the next part.
