4.0 out of 5 stars A singular philosophy, 1 May 2002
By A Customer
An interesting read especially for a dancer just embarking on the road to Middle Eastern Dance. And not just for the older dancer. But what it does do for her (or him) is to set out a reassuring philosophy that it is never to late to start a new interest and to become a worthy and entertaining dancer. A clear description of moves, advice on costuming and selections from mail and emails from dancers all over the World.
The author writes like the kind of person you would like to meet! Only complaint I would have liked some illustrations to inform and entertain me

5.0 out of 5 stars Zaida - one of the true gems of the belly dance scene, 15 April 2003
Zaida is one of those rare diamonds who come along every so often to inspire and encourage not only the young girls interested in learning the art of belly dance, but actively encourages the older generations to participate as well.
Most of all she encourages fun and laughter, togetherness and a wonderful sense of wellbeing. This book is her gift to all generations interested or currently learning belly dance and is in itself inspiring reading.

Well done Zaida!

3.0 out of 5 stars Great idea, but needs developing, 20 May 2009
By J. B. Gerrard (UK) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
It was an interesting book. as a 63 year old dancer and teacher, I enjoyed reading it, and parts of it were useful. However, I would have liked more pictures, and more specific information about how belly dancing can help women who are growing older. For example, what movements are particularly helpful, what are best avoided. Some more specific ideas on what to wear with pictures would have been great too. It was just a bit too generalised for me. So, not a bad book, and a great idea, just needed more work to make it really useful.
