5.0 out of 5 stars This Book is a textbook of poetic forms written beautifully., 26 Jan 2002
By A Customer
The Cry Of The Heart is a compilation of poems by Jean Lewis. I have recommended this book to budding poets as a reference for poetic form. Jean writes in many of the classical forms and does those forms to perfection, She includes sonnet, cinquain, nonet, haiku, rondelet, and tanka.
Jean writes excellent nature and love poetry and her poetic eye is wonderfully clear. Her tone is uplifting and her rhyme is perfection.
The Cry Of The Heart, as a title, defines the book. Jean writes from the heart and the result is a book that is enjoyable to read and impressively well done.
