5.0 out of 5 stars How I stopped being a greedy pig with no effort at all!, 14 Feb 2005
I loved the idea of listening to a CD that would hypnotize me into losing weight because somehow I still believed that there was a cheater, short-cut way to lose weight. I didn't really believe that it would work and assumed that this would be money thrown away. Well, guess what? This is day 16 and I have lost 4 kilos. That is almost 9 pounds and I swear it was without effort. The book is a quick read, intelligent and to the point, but the CD that is included with it is even better. Everyone laughed at me when I told them what I was up to, including my husband who complained when I played it before I went to sleep, but no one is laughing now and they all want to borrow it. No chance! Buy your own! What it does is makes you want to drink water, do exercise (willingly!) and convince you that you can stop eating when you feel full and that you will feel satisfied with less. The hidden benefits are that it makes you feel wonderful, telling you what a great person you are and the relaxation bit is worth buying alone. My only problem is how to buy this as a present for people who might be insulted by the title of the book "I can make you slim". It's not like buying a novel for a birthday, is it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Paul McKenna - I can make you thin, 10 April 2005
By Michael Watson (Cornwall) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
I'm one of these people who would look at a title like this and think "do me a favour. Great on TV, hilarious hypno shows, but dieting?" Well it isn't really dieting is it? It's a change in eating attitudes with principles that are so simple, so obvious that I wonder why I never thought of them myself. The book doesn't do anything incredible, Paul Mckenna doesn't do miracles, but what he does do is make you sit up and listen to what your body is trying to tell you. If you're hungry, eat! If you aren't, then why eat? It's so simple it's ridiculous. But by God it works. The book isn't quite as simple as that, there's a lot more to it than a few rules, especially effective is his craving buster. I now feel physically sick at the thought of eating my favourite cake I used to get every day at work! It's a great book, excellent price with fantastic ideas. So good, I shall read it again while I quench my hunger with a fistfull of peanut M&Ms. Yes I am allowed to eat them!

5.0 out of 5 stars It works!, 17 May 2006
By Alison (Surrey) - See all my reviews
Unlike many others who have written a review, I have never dieted in my life and have been lucky to have been a naturally slim person right up until I was about 30. I now have a son of 9 and a daughter of nearly 7 and found I was still kidding myself that the few pounds I'd gained were just what you expect after a couple of kids and getting a bit older. That was until I found myself almost bursting out of my size 12 clothes and could no longer kid myself that it was a particularly small size 12 anyway!! I got on the scales to find I was 1 stone overweight and immediately set about reading the Paul McKenna weight-loss system which had been recommended to me.

Well, what a great way to lose weight. Not only have I lost 10 pounds in just 4 weeks, but everything in my wardrobe now fits comfortably and I feel great. I also do not feel I've deprived myself in any way. I've read a couple of the negative reviews which state its just common sense. We all know that, but some of us need something to kick-start us into using our common sense and Paul McKenna does that fantastically. He's not pretending its rocket science! He earns his money by being a fantastic motivator and good luck to him.

Alison
