I think it is a very well written book that teaches about history in a very interesting way. Another Dear America that has the same learnig quality in an interesting way is A Line In The Sand.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best book from the series I have read., 2 Jul 1999
By A Customer
I have read most of the books in the Dear America series and this one, so far, has been my favorite. In other books I have read, in the series, about slavery have all told about the hardships of being a slave, but this one not only tells about the hardships, but it tells how hard it is with a disability. I recommend this book for people of all ages and not only children.

5.0 out of 5 stars You won't want to put it down, 28 Jun 1999
By A Customer
Like most Dear America books this book is writtin in detail. My favorite part is when Nancy finally decides to visit her mother, it tells you there is a little sense in her. This book is very heart warming and is probly my favorite book in the sereies. I think this is a good book for mothers and daughters to share. This was the book that got me hookrd on the Dear America sereies and I hope to someday read every book in the series.
