Review

'Since reading Lumley's Necroscope series, I know that vampires really do exist.' H.R. Giger 'Like the vampires it so full-bloodedly portrays, Brian Lumley's Necroscope series just gets stronger. His lively mix of action and monstrosity transmutes the base cliche of the vampire and turns it into a wonderfully contemporary bane.' Fear Magazine

Product Description

Harry Keogh discovers that Soviet scientists have accidentally opened a portal to our collective worst nightmares beside which the lethal terror of Chernobyl is a mere bad dream. Now the horror from the source of all Dark Legends is set to invade the world of the living. The Ural mountains hide a deadly secret: a supernatural portal. Soviet scientists and ESP-powered spies study the portal from their secret military base -- and the evil creatures emerging from it intent on ravaging the living. When Jazz Simmons, a British agent sent to infiltrate the base, is captured by the KGB and forced through the portal, his last message tells Harry Keogh, Necroscope, that the vampires are preparing for a mass invasion. Harry has only one option: to strike first. He must carry the human--vampire war to the vampires' own lands. But his strongest psychic power will be useless there -- what good is the power to summon the dead in a country where nothing ever dies, where every man, woman and child becomes a half-dead servant to the Vamphyri?

5.0 out of 5 stars Great third installment of The Necroscope Trilogy, 3 Oct 2001
By A Customer
This third installment of The Necroscope saga will not let down those of you who have read the first two and been mesmerised by them. This third edition is completely different from the previous two, taking the reader into a new and completely different direction and dimension! If you have read the last two books in this 5 book serious, you have got to read this one!

5.0 out of 5 stars Lumley does it again !, 20 Jan 2000
By Paul Curwen (Southampton, Hants United Kingdom) - See all my reviews
The third book in the series, brings the Russians, E-branch and Harry Keogh to a confrontation with the source world of the vampires, the book is split into two stories which meld together in a blinding culmination of magic, blood and war. I found that this book did not grip me as much as Necroscope, but still held me reading until the last page. The details that Brian brings to his books is such that they could be considered documentarys on actual events.
