Product Description

Synopsis

In this horror-thriller a sinister, invisible force takes control of a missile centre in the Dakota prairies. One agent understands its true nature - it is the human mind itself. He had witnessed the subversion of mental powers by the Russians in Iran - a force nothing short of "Black Magic!" The author has written "The Wolfen" and "The Hunger".

5.0 out of 5 stars Be transported to an altered state of consciousness!, 5 April 2000
By dee@obrien.abelgratis.com (Hertfordshire, UK) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Black Magic (Hardcover)
Alongside 'The Talisman' by Stephen King & Peter Straub, this is my equal favourite book of all time.

I found that I could relate so well to the characters within the community, especially to the 'new recruit' who is an Illustrator like myself. The constant recognition of parts of my own psyche as they were gradually unveiled sent shivers down my spine.

The plot is in parts thrilling, terrifying, surreal, sickening; in others exciting, emotional, even erotic.

The coven/community (without wishing to give too much away) will undoubtedly appeal to anyone with an interest in Wicca, Earth Magick or the Western Tradition, as an ideal to which we may all aspire, but also serves to draw to the attention of all humankind just how cruel, thoughtless and intolerant we all are, and how much better the world could be if only we opened our minds and spirits and tried to live beyond the mundane.

Unfortunately, I loaned my copy of the book to a friend some years ago and it was never returned. As I am longing to read it again (and to keep this precious piece of literature forever), I IMPLORE THE PUBLISHERS TO REPRINT IT AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!
