5.0 out of 5 stars An Excellent Starter, 26 Jun 2006
I have been a long-time fan of Bladerunner since it was released but only started accumulating literature on the film since 2001 when I (finally!) obtained regular access to the internet.
I mention the above to put the following in perspective.
Lacey's volume is not the definitive guide to Bladerunner but it doesn't purport to be. What it can claim to be is an excellent starter for anyone seriously interested in discovering the depth of this beautiful work of art and tracing its influence on many films made since. Having said that...and sounding as if I'm critical of this volume...I can only say that I wish I had been able to write so concisely (and infomatively) on a subject close to my heart. Lacey's slim volume contains a wealth of material and jump-off points for all those interested in this movie or movies in general.
Its a book I'm going to hang on to and pass down to my children to keep the legend of Bladerunner circulating, and also to hopefully prove how illuminating science-fiction can be when done properly.
