During this time, sociologists' attention shifted dramatically through the radical and egalitarian agenda of the 1960s and feminist concerns of the 1970s with patriarchal school systems and female underacheivement, to the late 1990s emphasis on parental responsibilities, standards and matriarchal schools with male underachievement.
