The book uses an interdisciplinary approach and provides a basic conceptual framework and theoretical underpinning for leisure studies. The text is organised into two interlinked sections covering the leisure phenomenon and provision for leisure.
Key Features
Chris Bull is Head of the Department of Sport Science, Tourism and Leisure at Canterbury Christ Church University College. He has over 25 years' experience in teaching leisure and tourism and has published various articles and book chapters in the field as well as undertaking significant consultancy projects.
Jayne Hoose was formerly a Senior Lecturer in Leisure and Tourism at Canterbury Christ Church University College and is now a Regional Manager in the charity sector. She has 10 years experience of teaching leisure and tourism and has published articles and book chapters on a range of topics as well as undertaking consultancy work.
Mike Weed is Lecturer in Sport and Leisure Policy and Management at Loughborough University. Previous posts include Lecturer in Sports Management at the University of North London and Director of the Research in Sports Culture (RiSC) group. He has published many respected articles and books in this field.
