This book is essential for any reader interested in the politics and history of 20th century Britain and the part played in it by the Labour Party. It is also the best reference book setting out all the essential facts, figures and personalities of the party I have been able to find. The book goes up to 1998 and so includes the early phase of the Blair government. I look forward to the 2nd edition which I am sure will follow the next general election.
