This book offers so much, as a resource to use with children and young people, in many types of Loss situations. It has photocopiable sheets for using with children and young people and these can be used as motivation for individual work, group work and work with classes. The pages are cleverly designed enabling them to be used creatively to cover some very difficult topices. They can be used to open discussions and a wealth of written work can be developed by the children and young people using the sheets as stimulus for work.
Linda Machin gives help and guidelines for use of her book. How to work with Children, difficulties that may arise and clear structured information for the counsellor, Teacher, Bereavement supporter, Doctor, social worker etc.
This book is a tool of great value. It has enabled me to work alongside many children and young people and to have some work of great value for them to keep and to treasure, however difficult it may have been for them.
