This book is a great guide to all places, characters, and terms used in Discworld novels. Wanna know everything about the Shades?Forgot which novels feature Mr Silverfish or Rincewind? What are the gods of Disc? How many levels of wizardry are there actally? What are motos of all guilds? If you've ever asked yourself some of these questions, this is the perfect book for you.

3.0 out of 5 stars Amusing enough but doesn't add a lot to the books, 11 Jul 2000

Terry Pratchett's worlds don't seem to need an encyclopedia and this is the encyclopedia they don't need. The interesting parts of this book for me were the sections other than the lexicographical listing of things from the books.
