Product Description

Kait Galweigh, her Sabir lover Ry and his cousin Ian, have captured the Mirror of Souls, an artefact which can confer immortality, but only at huge cost to the innocents whose souls are used to feed it. Though the Mirror calls to Kait - she had hoped to use its magical powers to restore to life her slaughtered Family - she knows its evil is too great and that it must be destroyed before Crispin Sabir gets his hands on it. But the only way to do that is if Kait becomes a Falcon like her uncle, one of the covert group of wizards sworn to the service of good under the aegis of the god Vodor Imrish. And that decision binds her more surely than any iron chain. While Kait and her friends are battling the ages-old evil of the Mirror, her cousin Danya, raped and Scarred by Crispin, is being groomed for godhead by the Dragon Luercas, who now inhabits the body of her dead son. Impersonating Ki Ika, the Summer Goddess, and her son Iksahsha, the Chosen One, they are gathering together a mighty army of the Scarred, ready to invade and conquer the Rich Lands. The destruction of the Mirror will avert a great disaster . . . but for Kait and her friends, the nightmare is onlky just beginning. Courage of Falcons is a masterful fantasy that will appeal to readers of Julian May and Maggie Furey, with strong, well-realised characters, a cracking plot and a villain who exudes evil from every pore.

5.0 out of 5 stars Marvelous ending!, 8 Jan 2004

This book continued where the last left off. Danya and Luercas have convinced the Scarred that they are the long prophesied messiahs that would lead them to victory over the humans. The Scarred did not care that their new leader, Luercas, was evil or that Danya was out for personal revenge. They became an unstoppable army and declared war on all humans!

Kait and Ry were skinshifters. They, along with Ian, Dughall, and the Falcons, struggled against the immortal, soul-devouring necromancers known as the Dragons. Afterward, they must face the Scarred armies.

***** This one is the best of the three! The author carries the reader along with the characters through hopeless situations. I flew through the pages swiftly to see what would happen next. Marvelous ending! *****

4.0 out of 5 stars A good finish to a great trilogy, 25 Mar 2002

Well what can i say about this book, it finishes off what was a great trilogy, it kept me turning the pages fairly quickly and enjoying the characters I have come to know and love.

However I did find this book to be a bit lacking, it all felt very hurried, esp towards the end where it seemed to miss out whole chunks of what could have been a great 4th and maybe even 5th novel :( It also intorduced a whole load more history in the last 1/3rd of the book that Holly took no time to explain or expand upon, which i felt rather disappionted about.

5.0 out of 5 stars Theres not alot left to say, but "wow" - a must read, 31 Mar 2001
By A Customer
The style in which this is written makes for a book that is nearly impossible to put down. If you havent read the previous two then please do make sure you read them before hand to you can understand the complexities and marvels of the plot thats put forward. Speaking from my own experience, regardless of being a typically busy person I had finished this book in under a week. The depth to which the story goes if you let yourself imagine, lose yourself to the characters is immense, you can imagine being there, and all the influences of Family, Falconry and even a sense of being Karnee you strive with the characters, not mearly reading to fight for their cause. Truly one of the best books I have read this year at least. Ms.Lisle, I salute you.
