4.0 out of 5 stars A Shocking Story of our failure to help innocent people, 12 Jan 2000
Review of Jack & Zena - by Jack & Zena Briggs published by Victor Gollancz # - ISBN # 0-575-064959

Conversational style makes this book easy to read. It is a shocking account of intolerance extreme racism under the guise of religious culture. This true story happens right under our noses in England. It describes abuse of society's tolerance by the immigrant community directed against their own daughter who happens to love someone outside their culture. The machinery of government, law enforcement, and social support totally fails Jack and Zena. If the majority host community acted this way they would be condemned, hauled before the courts and thrown in the slammer. "Jack & Zena" shows that racism cuts both ways, but, our Politically Correct system only safeguards one way.
