5.0 out of 5 stars I love this book, 9 April 2008
I have four children between 4 and 9 and am always on the lookout for good books. "Felicity Frobisher & the three-headed Aldebaran dust devil" is brilliant. I only bought it at the weekend and we'cve already read it twice. It's about a little girl who has a very bad friend, whoc comes down a wormhole from another planet. My girls loved it because they identified with poor Felicity and the boys loved it because Felicity's very naughty friend - Flummff - is a boy. And I enjoyed it even thought I'm, 41! - especially all the silly names, like Miss Sprint the PE teacher and Mr Floggitt the headmaster and Sharon Fruit, Brian Nylon and Virginia Creeper. The illustrations are great, like the one of little Felicity, the worst at French in her class, being hugged off her feet by the teacher after the pan-galactic Speaking Dictionary gives her the best French accent ever. I alreday know of Marcus Chown as a science writer so I was intrigued to find out whether he could write for kids. The story is fantastic and lots of fun and we learnt something about space too.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant book!, 15 Jul 2008
By H. Donald (London) - See all my reviews

A friend gave me this book because he thought my son, aged 3 1/2, would enjoy it. I was a bit sceptical but tried it on him and it was a huge hit! He inevitably missed a lot of the jokes in it but immediately identified with the characters, in particular, the mischievous Flummf. He was totally hooked - even though there wasn't a single dinosaur in it - and as soon as we'd finished the book, he demanded that we start all over again! I've no doubt that older children would love it even more and we will definitely be keeping it on the bookshelf to be revisited over the coming few years as well as giving copies to friends with slightly older children. Let's hope there's a sequel out soon...

5.0 out of 5 stars Wormholes, 21 April 2008

What a wonderful story! I giggled all through it, re-read it,
then seized the chance to read it out to 7 year old grandchild, who devoured the whole thing in two sittings. She has gone
back to Scotland, so I am attempting to put it away without reading
it again. What fun!
