5.0 out of 5 stars one of the only books Ive liked enough to read twice!, 9 Mar 2006
By tan-tan (England) - See all my reviews
I loved this book! and that means something because I don't love many books.
it's filled with tension to the point where I had to read it in one sitting. and I enjoyed the experience so much I read it again!!
this is a book about a teenage boy, going through changes that he can't control, so although it may have supernatural basings, it's a book that all people experiencing change can realte to!
like all transformation stories, this book is incredibly sad.
but it's also humourous and charming. mrs hare is a fabulous character!
the chapters written from different character perspectives adds a unique style of writing, increasing the tension. it's a real page turner.
I recomend it to everyone! and I cant wait for the next book to come out this summer.

5.0 out of 5 stars Scaly skin chiller, 13 Mar 2006
By A Customer
Intelligent horror, shot through with macabre black humour, about a contemporary teenager who discovers he is gradually turning into something else...The story is set against an urban background - city streets, dank canal, scrubby stretches of marshland beyond houses - and full of creepy atmosphere. Brief, gripping episodes move about in time, place and character viewpoint - a complex structure that cleverly builds into a complete picture at the climax. It's to be continued in a sequel.
