This CD-ROM provides content for the system - designed to be networked across an entire institution - which has been developed by the Learning and Teaching Institute at Sheffield Hallam University, under the leadership of Sue Drew. Guidance and interactive skill checks are provided for 10 major skills themes. The CD begins with a "Key Skills Check". By completing this questionnaire a student's level of skills in specific areas is assessed and guidance is provided on which need attention. Skills are then broken down into a range of areas - writing, oral communication, visual communication, information gathering, working with others, IT, working with numbers, solving problems, improving learning and employability. Each section begins with a skills check followed by practical advice and guidance and finally evaluated details of extra resources which should help the student develop the skill in question.
