4.0 out of 5 stars More Local Heroes, 27 Jul 2003
This review is from: More "Local Heroes" (Paperback)
Having bought '100 Local Heroes' I thought I would buy 'More Local Heroes' to read about a further 54 scientists, boffins and inventors. I was greatly disappointed to find that most, if not all, additional heroes were to be found in the original 100 Local Heroes - there are no 'More' as the title suggests. Having said that the book is well written and you can hear Adam Hart-Davies' voice and enthusiasm in the text. I would avoid this book purely because it contains less heroes than the first title and is somewhat more expensive.

5.0 out of 5 stars A prequel, not a sequel to "100 Local Heroes"., 18 Aug 2004

(REAL NAME)
This review is from: More "Local Heroes" (Paperback)
This book (published 1998) is a sequel to "The Local Heroes Book of British Ingenuity" (published 1997), not a sequel to "100 Local Heroes" (published 1999) as another reviewer mistakenly believed. The "100 Local Heroes" book would appear to be a compilation of both earlier titles and is clearly the one to buy!
