Review
Here are some of the spiky haired chef's best recipes, a one-volume edition of his Rhodes Around Britain trilogy. Like those of the finest cooks, Rhodes's recipes have always managed to combine inventiveness with simplicity, and the notes that accompany each dish offer practical advice on variations and serving. He's also among the least precious of celebrity cooks, both in his choice of dishes and approach to making them. There's a huge range here, including soups, snacks, vegetarian dishes, baking, sauces, and more. Start with the Chicken with Wild Mushrooms, Grapes and Tarragon, or the Chocolate Sponge Cake with Cappuccino Mousse, but be warned, you'll want to try them all. At 12.99 this is also excellent value though some cooks may regret the lack of pictures. (Kirkus UK)
