Product Description

Product Description

To celebrate the 20th anniversary of EastEnders on 19 February 2005, we take a nostalgic look back over the life of Albert Square and its residents, to remember the classic moments and the characters we've grown to love. From relationships to fashion faux pas, we recall the top love stories, the biggest scraps and Pat's enchanting earring collection: all the gems that have made EastEnders Britain's best-loved soap. Over the years EastEnders has become essential viewing, instantly recognisable through its compelling storylines and captivating characters. We step behind the scenes to see how the show ticks, from the producer to the scriptwriters and the wardrobe artists to the camera crew. As well as covering the soap's biggest storylines, there are detailed profiles that relive the ups and downs of popular characters and Wendy Richard (Pauline Fowler) provides the foreword. Rupert Smith is a journalist and author with extensive knowledge of EastEnders.

5.0 out of 5 stars A must have for any EastEnders fan!, 9 Sep 2005
By A Customer
EastEnders is the hit soap which started on 19th February 1985. This book tells all about a year by year guide from February 1985 up until December 2004 in a popular book which coincides with the celebrations of EastEnders' 20th birthday. This book is certainly a must have for ANY EastEnders fan!

Enjoy with pleasure...

5.0 out of 5 stars Interesting, 27 Feb 2005
An excellent and engaging look into life behind the scenes at Eastenders, detailing just how this soap has been so successful for the last 20 years; also a look at some of the more memorable characters who have crossed the square and all the important storylines from each year outlined.

A lovely trip to Memory Lane.

2.0 out of 5 stars Predictable, 9 Mar 2005
By A Customer
There have been some great moments in EastEnders 20 year history but this book doesn't do them justice. It's averagely written and the design is dull, flat and old fashioned. You get no sense of the excitement of EastEnders most cracking stroylines. On the plus side it's fun to remember classic Walford moments, but they only serve to remind us of how the show is curently at an all time low...
