very useful book. contains loads of info about France and plenty of exercises and words.Something to work through on your own or in a french class. You do need the cd's for pronounciation and they are a bit disappointing as the speech is so fast it is difficult to pick up.

Hiya.
I got this because my french teacher told us to buy it for our french classes. And it's full on text and i found it less readable. It's alright to use when I need to but just doesn't grab that joy of learning a nee language!

I purchased this book hoping it would be in the same format as the BBC spanish equivalent.Unfortunately it is strongly linked to the CD and does not make a very good "stand alone" read for those who like to study in the traditional way.In fact I have not been able to find such a book currently being published.
