Perfect for any fan of the man who dresses "sports casual." Witty, intelligent, perceptive and contemporary whether you know the series or not you'll still be in for a treat. Unlike many comedy shows which transfer directly from radio to television without creating any new material, Knowing Me Knowing You With Alan Partridge (or KMKYWAP as he prefers it to be known in such a convenient little acronym) has material that you won't have seen on any of the TV shows. The shows are brilliantly written, with beautifully crafted, well-performed, frequently familiar characters. Could that possibly be a critical aside about a certain Hollywood couple? Are they really discussing that singer's alcohol problem? Surely not! These three tapes make the perfect gift (though you may want to keep them to yourself) and are significantly cheaper than buying them individually. You can listen to them again and again and never grow tired of the writing (well I haven't yet). And you also get the smug feeling of satisfaction of knowing the format of the show before it transferred to television. So I say (to Steve Coogan, Armando Ianucci, Patrick Marber et al) thankyou for the humour, for giving it to me.
