4.0 out of 5 stars scottish hillwalking, 7 Jun 2009
By G. I. Forbes (edinburgh) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This excellent book which is well researched deals with 12 walks all of which are an the Western Isles or in the west of Scotland. Each walk takes 2 -4 days
There is good descriptive text with an adequate map (an inset map of Scotland would have been useful to place the walk for those not familiar with Scotlands geography.)
For each walk there is an OS map reference, details of start and finish points, length, time taken to complete, terrain, accomodation, meals and transport.
The photographs are fair but many are far to dark and do the book no credit
The book should have been entitled "some wilderness walks" as there are many such walks in other parts of Scotland..
