Hola! Me llamo Sue. This is the only Spanish course I've ever completed (and I've tried a few!). It's easy, entertaining and self-correcting. the book has 15 units, giving information about Spain and an interesting text to read. Spotchecks, keywords and pronunciation practise keep you on track and you can't help but learn. Me gusta mucho!

I have previously used BBC German courses and found them very good. This course has a similar book layout, but I found the poor recording quality of the cassettes made it very difficult to catch the pronunciation. This is very limiting especially when you are starting the course and trying to follow the 'live' conversations by native speakers. I also have a slight issue with the layout of the items, as you had to flip backwards and forwards between the Chapter sections and the green appendices when following the tape. Given the importance of the audio to guiding the beginner I could only give it 3 stars.
