3.0 out of 5 stars Good, But...., 8 July 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Double Wedding (Hardcover)
not great - I love Patricia Scanlan's book, but this was a disappointment. There just seemed to be an air of publishing the book for the sake of time.
Don't get me wrong, I finished it in 1.5 days, but there wasn't the same substance as her earlier books. I hoped it would improve towards the end, but it doesn't...it just rambles on.
A good read, but I didn't get the same enjoyment as I did from her other books.
Definitely not worth the money for the hardback edition, but would definitely add the paperback to my collection.

5.0 out of 5 stars could not put it down!!!!!, 7 Mar 2005

bought this book on a bit of whim and im very glad i did!!! I could not put it down. The authors portrayal of the characters was excellent and i found myself liking some of the characters i wasnt initially too keen on. The ending was very good and i thoroughly enjoyed this read to cheer me up on a grisly wet weekend!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent read!, 6 April 2005
By A Customer
This was the first book I have read by Patricia and found it excellent. I was bored and started reading it and then couldn't put it down. I have found my new addiction!!! The characters are believable and there is a real empathy for why people behave in the way they do - well researched!!

3.0 out of 5 stars Double Wedding
To be honest I felt really sorry for Carol and irritated by Jessica's smug ways. It wasnt Carol's fault that she had fallen in love with such a rouge who treated her so badly.
