I loved this book! This is a story of Lady Joanna Hawkeforte, who has read about and dreamed of the secret Kingdom of Akora since she was a child. Then one day her brother leaves to fine it but does not return. Enter Lord Alex Darcourt, the son of an English Nobleman and an Akoran Princess (this therefore makes him Akoran Royality).

Being determined to find her brother, Joanna stows away on Lord Alex's ship, heading for Akora.

This book really captured my imagination, and was so different from other regency novels I have read. This author managed to combine, mystery and fictional places, with politics and the usual social events of the era.

I adored Alex as a hero and the romance in this book was extremely well written, with believable characters and interesting facts of the time. This book kept me hooked, I couldn't put it down! I can't wait to read the next one in the trilogy. I really recommend this book to anyone who likes a good historical romance with a little mystery.
