AMBUSH AT CORELLIA

A trade summit on Corellia brings Han Solo back to the home world he left many years before. Arriving on the distant planet with Leia, their children, and Chewbacca, Han finds Corellia overrun with agents of the New Republic Intelligence and finds himself part of a deceptive plan whose aim not even he understands. One thing is clear: the five inhabited worlds of the sector are on the brink of civil war and the once peaceful coexistence of the three leading races - human, Selonian, and Drallan - has come to an end.

Suddenly all that Han, Leia, and others of the Alliance have fought for is threatened. As jammerships block all communication with Luke Skywalker and the outside universe, Han and Leia find themselves trapped on a world about to explode in violence unless they can meet a fanatical rebel leader's impossible demands...

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best Star Wars Book Ever!, 31 Jul 2001
By A Customer
I absolutely LOVED this book and went out immediately to buy the next 2 in the trilogy. I was never bored and the whole story had me excited and intrigued. It was excellent to have Gaerial back from the Truce at Bakura, and to see how she had changed. Allen brught back Mara Jade in style and showed the solo children in a whole new way. They were no longer a distraction in the plot, but key figures and appeared as actual characters. I loved the way the story revolved around Han Solo, who often gets forgotten amongst the Jedi, and we got to read more about the little mentioned Thraken. If you loved this, then you have to read the Han Solo Trilogy. Well Done and where's the next one!

3.0 out of 5 stars Mediocre as Star Wars novels go., 15 Nov 2004
By Ian Tapley "thefragrantwookiee" - See all my reviews
(TOP 100 REVIEWER)    (REAL NAME)
THE STORY:
Fourteen years after 'Return of the Jedi', the Solo family travels to Corellia for a trade summit. Whilst there, however, racial and social tensions, as well as the threat of a mysterious new superweapon, turn the Corellian system into a maelstrom of chaos. Meanwhile, Lando takes Luke and the Droids on a mission to find himself a rich wife.

WHAT'S GOOD:
It's good to see Lando actually getting a bit of character development for a change, his story here isn't about some madcap financial venture which he abandons to become a general again. There are three other things that make this book stand out; 1) it's the first time we've ever really found out any details about the much-mentioned Corellia, 2) the villain is none other than Han's near-identical cousin and 3) this is one of the few books (outside of Tim Zahn's) that does justice to the character of Mara Jade.

WHAT'S BAD:
This book's failing is that it's just mostly unremarkable, the story not really being anything we've not read before, particularly the whole Starbuster thing. Don't get me wrong, I'm not against superweapon storylines (I mean, how cool was the Death Star!), but the author could have at least tried to make it a bit different to those that have gone before.

3.0 out of 5 stars Average (only for true star wars fans), 3 Jan 2000
By A Customer
The main aspect of this book which is disappointing is the storyline. It lacks depth and is just a spin-off from the countless other "domesday weapon" scenario star wars books. One for the fans. If you are looking for a truly amazing star wars trilogy read the han solo trilogy.
