Product Description

Product Description

This is a tale of a mother and her illegitimate daughter's relationship gone wrong and a story of love and loss set against the backdrop of the international auction houses.

From the Back Cover

Tessa Kent, an exquisite and precocious fourteen-year-old, gives birth to an illegitimate daughter. Her parents, devout Catholics, raise the infant, Maggie, as their own child. At sixteen Tessa is discovered by Hollywood; by ninetten she's an international movie star. Maggie lives for her glorious 'sister's' infrequent whirlwind visits. Maggie is a captivating, independent eighteen when she accidentally learns the truth. Mortally wounded, she breaks all ties with Tessa and starts work at the famed Manhattan auction house of Scott & Scott.

Five years later, a life-altering crisis makes Tessa passionately determined to end this estrangement. An auction is the only way she can find to reach her daughter, an auction of the immensely valuable collection of famed jewels that represent all the love lavished on her by her late husband. Tessa promises Scott & Scott the auction on the condition that Maggie and she work closely together on the sale. For Tessa, her entire future now hangs on the hope of an almost impossible reconciliation.

5.0 out of 5 stars Galmour - Lovers - Morality - Passion, 15 Jan 2001
By A Customer
A great read I could not put this book down. The life of tessa kent from her early teens was an adventure of passion, sex, work and finally true love. A hollywood movie star by the age of 19 Tessa Kent has a daughter of five that the world doesn't know about, and that everyone including her daughter believes is her sister. When a crisis occurs Tessa kent must set her life in order and must decide weather to reveal all. A great book for weekend away just cool drink and a hot book.
