Roger Woolger is intelligent, insightful, cogent and experienced. He is also a fearless exporer. These are the qualities that come across in this book, which should be on the curriculum of every college.

He outlines his own development from Oxford University through conventional Jungian Therapeutic approaches such as dream work, to his discovery of emotional-based visualisations of what can only be described as 'past life' images. He found that working with these achieved outstanding therapeutic effects in comparison with his previous approaches and continued to develop this approach comprehensively.

Having tried the ideas out practically, I can vouch for them, and can only describe the effects as life-changing. Woolger does not state categorically that these 'past life' images are necessarily the product of reincarnation, and has found that belief or lack of it about their origin does not affect the effectiveness of the results.

Yet curiously (or perhaps not so curiously) he details how he found himself ostracised by the conventional Jungian community - much indeed as Jung himself was by conventional medicine in his own time. Plus ca change, plus c'est la meme chose.

If you have any inclination to get to the root of problems in the psyche (and we all have them) rather than blotting them out, then this book is invaluable.

It is a perfect complement to 'Reincarnation Therapy' by Ingrid Vallieres.
