4.0 out of 5 stars Not the best, but OK, 17 Feb 2000
By A Customer
I realise this book is written for children, which is all well and good, but that does not mean that the characters need to SPEAK like children. I admire the author for his attempt at a childrens Star Wars book, but the main point is, most of the Star Wars universe is for teens and adults. The Ewoks, Jawas and Droids are the parts for children, not the rest. Very young children may enjoy this, but I don't know if the author realises that if a child enjoys reading enough to buy this book, they won't need things simplified as much as they have been. The characters need a lot more substance to their part. All other Star Wars books give background to their characters and make it interesting information. Who are these characters that we have never before heard of? Why does the Emporor suddenly have an ALIEN son. It is a known fact that he hated aliens, so why would he sleep with one and have a son by one? Also, why were there no rumours of his son previouly? Too many unanswered questions!

1.0 out of 5 stars Lack of Creativity, 15 Jun 1999
By A Customer
As much as I respect authors who put effort in to writing books, I honestly did not like this sorry attempt to continue the story of Star Wars.

I understand that it was not written for adults, and therfore is made to read easier and a little bit easier to understand as well.

The novel attempted to include things that don't belong in the Star Wars series and re-used ideas that were good, but had been done before.

By A Customer
This is a book for young adults. Not for Grown men and Women. It has a great story line. Every Star Wars fan should have it.

3.0 out of 5 stars It's good but you have to read the rest of the series.
I loved the whole series, but this first one wasn't my favorite. The glove search was exciting, but the rest of the series is better. This is for 2nd-4th graders.
