Product Description
Amazon.co.uk Review
Girls in Love is the first title (followed by Girls Under Pressure) in a trilogy for older readers (young teens) by award-winning author Jacqueline Wilson. Already an immensely popular author of books for younger readers (Bad Girls, The Suitcase Kid and Double Act) with Girls in Love Jacqueline Wilson shows she's sure to be equally popular with girls in their early teens.

As well as the boyfriend problem, this hilariously entertaining novel touches on the deeper pains associated with the loss of a parent and coming to terms with a new step-parent. Ellie, Magda and Nadine are determined to explore the, as yet uncharted, country of the boyfriend. When best friend Nadine gets a boyfriend, Ellie finds herself saying that she's got one too. Trouble is, he's the too young, too nerdy and too ugly boy who fell in love with her during her boring holiday in Wales. But when Nadine's dishy boyfriend starts causing trouble we see just how important girlfriends are and just how lucky Ellie is to have found a boy who is really her friend. An amusing and delightful read by someone who clearly knows what she's writing about. --Tamsin Palmer --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

5.0 out of 5 stars This book is really funny and I could'nt stop reading it., 1 Mar 2001

This review is from: Girls in Love (Paperback)
This is the best book I have ever read. It is about two best friends called Ellie and Nadine who have been best friends since they were little, and they always stick together. But when one of them gets a boyfriend their friendship goes horribly wrong. I think this book should be recomended to girls aged 11-16. It is really funny and I think if you buy it you will definately enjoy it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant book, for older readers(girls)ages 11-15, 15 Jan 2001

This review is from: Girls in Love (Paperback)
Girls in love is a brilliant book aimed for older readers(11-15)and definitely for girls.(Has some bad lanuage)It has two stories following it:Girls under pressure, and girls out late. It's mainly about three girls: Ellie, Magda and Nadine who have a series of boyfriends some really nice but some who are into drugs etc. Ellie is very conscious about her weight and is really friendly and will do anything for her best friends; Nadine is really slim but eats hundreds of sweets and puts on really pale make-up and Magda is fancied by all the boys and apart from that shes fine. This book was one I couldn't put down because it was full of fun, sadness and humour all in one, I recommend it to all the girls(11-15) So go buy it!!!

This review is from: Girls in Love (Paperback)
I loved this book! I sometimes found myself laughing out loud! It was enough to cheer me up! Ms Wilson obviously knows teenaged girls. Ellie is an extremely funny character, in her point of view the story moves on through her life in year nine! It's such I great book I went back and read it again! I strongly recommend it!
