One winter evening, during rush hour, a bomb explodes in a crowded train in the London underground. More than 100 people are slaughtered. In the absence of any terrorist claims come distressing questions. Who planted the device? And why?

From the Back Cover
On a bitter winter evening a bomb explodes in a crowded London underground train. People are senselessly slaughtered. Who planted the murderous device? And why?

A few hours later in a Mayfair flat a young prostitute is brutally killed and an enigmatic message written in blood is left in her room. It is addressed to Frank Pagan, counter-terrorist specialist, and it draws him into the most terrifying case of his career.

Pagan finds himself pitted against two extraordinary adversaries: the lethal Carlotta, a woman whose appetite for blood is matched only by Pagan's hunger for justice - and the ghost of Jig, his most famous antagonist, whose death has given birth to new demons...

From London to New York, Berlin to Venice, Jigsaw weaves a breathtaking story of conspiracy and power, passion and betrayal - a magnificent follow-up to Campbell Armstrong's worldwide bestseller Jig.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Five-Star Sequel to a Five-Star Original, 5 Jul 2001
By A Customer
Jigsaw brings us back into the world of Frank Pagan, hardnosed counter-terrorist agent from Armstrong's earlier bestselling classic, Jig. This time he is forced to pit wits with the sexy steamy psychotic Carlotta, a chameleon terrorist, who is a great character, smart as Pagan and probably even more ruthless. The final sequence to their adventures is in the excellent novel Heat, well worth reading.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great sequel to a classic, 8 Jun 2001
By A Customer
JIG was THE thriller of the late 1980s, maybe one of the high-spots in thriller writing of an entire decade. Belatedly, Armstrong produced Jigsaw and although it differs from JIG considerably, it's comforting to see the return of Frank Pagan, the hero of JIG. It's a good story in its own right, and it is filled with echoes of JIG. So if you remember JIG fondly, as I do, treat yourself to this sequel. Normally sequels are inferior offspring, but this one lives up to all my expectations.

2.0 out of 5 stars Charmless pot-boiler, 4 May 2008
By S. Arnott (UK) - See all my reviews

After wading through this effort I'm slightly suspicious of the other two 'glowing' reviews of this book. In short, it's not great: the various plot elements seems to be taken from the 'Big Book of Cliches'. You keep reading in the hope it might pick up, or you might start caring about any of the characters, but no such luck. I got to the end but wish I hadn't started.
