Product Description

Product Description

A continuation of the saga begun in "The Rowan", "Damia" and "Damia's Children". The four children were Primes among the Talents, and all their skills were desperately needed, for the Hivers' terrible Sphere ships were still thrusting through space, carrying death in their labyrinthine depths.

From the Publisher

Lyon's Pride continues the compelling saga begun in The Rowan, Damia and Damia's Children.

5.0 out of 5 stars Just Brilliant, 27 Jan 2001
From Amanda Gillies, Shropshire, England. As a long standing Anne McCaffrey fan, (I even have a bill board from a book shop on my bedroom wall) with all but three of her books (that I know about) I can honestly say that Lyon's Pride is just brilliant, the best, mid story title I've read. You just know there's more and you'll want it. Every last comma and dot is remembered, every person is as real as if they were sitting beside you. The story and characters follow on from the other books, and how! Now, I'm just going to dip into The Tower and The Hive. Again.

4.0 out of 5 stars Lyon's Pride, 25 Mar 2005

(TOP 500 REVIEWER)
"Lyon's Pride" is an excellent continuation to "Damia's Children". These are not stand-alone books. One will need to read "Damia's Children" in order to get the story line straight.

Lyon's Pride is of course the children of Afra Lyon (with the help of Damia one would assume). As the coalition of the Mrdini and the humans become aware of the extent of the expansion of the Hivers, they also become aware of oddities. Rojer, Tian, Zara and Laria are still out in the field working for FT&T in different capacities as go-betweens for humans and Mrdinis.

Whether the Hivers are to be exterminated or preserved is a cause for debate amongst both Mrdini and humans. There are physical attempts to sabotage the effort to preserve the Hivers. Of course, the Lyon children are involved in repelling these attempts. Life is definitely challenging for the eldest of the Lyon Pride.

All in all an enjoyable read. As with "Damia's Children", "Lyon's Pride" depends upon a follow-up in order to tie up all the loose ends.
