5.0 out of 5 stars The real deal, 9 Jun 2005
By A Customer
As my title suggests, this is the Real Deal - forget all the other trivia books that have flooded the market, if you want originality, proper research (rather than cut and pastes from dubious sources) then this is the one to go for.

As a fan of the web site that this book started from, http://vitaminq.blogspot.com/, I was looking forward to this book, and got it as soon as it was publshed. It's not just a rehash of the web site, but has loads of new stuff especially written for the book.

Even though I've had this book for months, I still flick through it and find new stuff I hadn't noticed before.

And every list oozes quality - you can tell it's been scrupulously researched.

Did I mention the humour? It's one of the few books that make me splutter with laughter.

So if you're reading this, press the 'order' button immediately - you won't regret it.

2.0 out of 5 stars Vitamin Z, 4 Jul 2007
By Patrick Neylan "Patrick Neylan" (Orpington, Kent, UK) - See all my reviews
(TOP 500 REVIEWER)    (REAL NAME)
Ten amazing facts about Vitamin Q:

1 It contains many facts you already know, such as Jif cleaning fluid has changed its name to Cif, or Marathon changed its name to Snickers (but the book doesn't add that this is only in the UK and Eire, as it's always been Snickers everywhere else). And if you didn't know that, would you really pay a tenner to find out (in the unlikely event that you cared)?

2 It contains many facts you could never possibly want to know (see 1 above)

3 This book has a reputation for "originality" and "proper research"; however...

4 ...the author thought it worth publishing such lists as "Twelve professions in which numbers are believed to be steadily declining in the USA". What kind of tosh is that? What excuse is that for research? There are too many such lists: pointless and unverifiable, and not even remotely funny, let alone enlightening.

5 Many lists

6 are stretched beyond

7 the point where

8 they become

9 boring

10 Vitamin Q? Vitamin zzzzzzzzzzzz
