Product Description

Product Description

This revision has been thoroughly updated to reflect late-1990s research as well as the applications to organizational, industrial, educational, judiciary, athletic, and interpersonal settings. Donelson Forsyth builds each chapter around a separate, real-life case example and integrates various perspectives from other disciplines such as sociology, anthropology, education, and political science to achieve a comprehensive analysis of group behaviour. The concepts, woven with pedagogy, teach the students about group dynamics rather than simply exposing them to basic principles and research findings.

4.0 out of 5 stars Forsyth discusses the basics of group theories., 29 Jan 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Group Dynamics (Hardcover)
As can be expected in a field as broad as group theory, Forsyth does not explain in depth the various theories of group interactions, nor does he endorse any particular one as absolutely correct. He does, however, highlight the pertinent points of each theorist so that the reader can achieve a full appreciation for the work and experiments done in this field. The text is an excellent resource for students or curious readers new to the groups studies.
