The Guns of Navarone is one of those books which once you've finished it seems as though it took you only a minute. There are so many twists and turns that you begin to feel dizzy. The main plot is based on a true story and is incredibly dramatic but not to a point that it seems impossible. The characters that make up the team which is sent to do the mission are each unique and infinetly suspicious of each other as most of them are caught in suspicious circumstances. But there is infact one thing about this book which doesn't quite put it up into the classics range. What makes something a classic is wanting to either read it again or watch it again or play it again, etc. But The Guns of Navarone is a one timer, just one read through and it's back up on the shelf for the rest of your life. But this also means that it is a completely unforgettable book.
