3.0 out of 5 stars A pleasing, different time travel romance with a male lead, 4 Nov 1998
By A Customer
My Lady in Time was a pleasant read. The leading character is a male, for a change, who travels back through time where he eventually learns his true calling in life and falls in love along the way. The story had some fun moments, but was lacking in the intense emotional pangs of a very good romance book. Some moments were just plain silly, and the romantic tension between Derek and Allison could have been stronger if Allison were a bit less shallow character. Her main attributes were her beauty and wealth. I failed to connect with her and found it hard to understand Derek's deep attraction to her. Derek, on the other hand, is a much stronger character. His transformation from a modern day playboy to a hardworking, respectable knight really had me rooting for him all the way. If you'd like a nice, lighthearted story, then you should enjoy My Lady in Time. It's a good book, just not a great one.

4.0 out of 5 stars A time travel story set in Medieval England., 15 Oct 1998
By A Customer
I thought it was a very well-written book. A liked the transformation of "Derek" from spoiled rich boy to a true "knight". I also enjoyed the funny parts in the book. I laughed when I read these parts. I hope to read more of Angie Ray's books.

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent time-travel novel about Medieval England!, 23 April 1998
By A Customer
A beautiful ghost visits Derek Sinclair, a spoiled, rich, California playboy and begs for his help. Thinking that the woman is an alcohol-induced vision, he promises to save Lady Allison from a disastrous marriage. Transported back into Medieval England, Derek realizes that he is not dreaming and that his life is threatened. To survive he must win the heart of the fair Lady Allison, who has forgotten about her plea for help, and who is disgusted by Derek's strange talk of the future and his incompetence on the field of honor. Can he survive the torturous training and the murderous intentions of Lady Allison's brutish suitor? This book was very good and had several extremely funny parts. Especially when Derek writes an ode to Lady Allison's elbow and serenades her in the rain while howling dogs protest his failure. And Derek's transformation from a twentieth century, pampered male to a strong heroic knight was wonderful. The book was well researched and it was enlightening to discover all the hardships that a knight had to face just to sit on a horse and prepare for a joust. This was an excellent book!
