It would seem that the struggle for equality between the sexes extends beyond the boardroom and onto urban walls. The male graffiti artist's quote on the frontispiece is both sexist and disparaging. What follows, however, is a wide range of different graffiti styles: some horribly "cute", others depicting women in a rather stereotyped way, some challenging the way women are viewed, while others are brilliantly drawn and beautifully executed. Included are statements from the women artists themselves. For me, this was a welcome extension to the book. It was fascinating to read how some have struggled to compete in, what was hitherto regarded as, a wholly male preserve; others discuss what they are attempting to portray in their work.

It's a fascinating book. Nicely put together and well illustrated.An absolute MUST for anyone who considers themselves to be a graffiti fan.
