5.0 out of 5 stars An excellent book for anyone with an interest in the Incas, 22 Oct 2001
By A Customer
An up-to-date book giving an accessible yet detailed summary of the history of the Inca people from the first colonization during the end of the last Ice Age through to the Late Intermediate Period, reflecting results from the most recent excavations and giving some of the latest hypotheses. The work begins with a few general chapters covering important topics as diverse as the complex ecological climates in the Andes and cultural background of the Incas, before discussing in chronological order each time period and its developments. This book makes the perfect textbook for any undergraduate reading archaeology or Latin-American Studies. Illustrated with photographs, maps and diagrams this book is readable for anyone with an interest in the Incas and their history as well as both scholars and students.
