5.0 out of 5 stars Exellent for written content and beautiful photography., 1 Nov 2000
By A Customer
This book, written by several authors, allows each author to write about their specialist historical period in the history of tango. The text is enhanced by beautiful photographs and picture reproductions. This is a useful book for a complete history of tango and its personalities, as well as interesting quotations on tango throughout.

4.0 out of 5 stars Tango all the way, 13 May 2009
By Andrea Coole (Dorset, England) - See all my reviews
Having recently taken up tango dancing I was interested in the history and roots of tango dance and music. Having almost finished the book I feel it has given me much more of an insight into the various phases and passions of the tango with a few surprises too. The one thing I suppose I was looking for, which I have not yet found in the book, is the breakdown of particular tango dance movements (e.g. the sandwich) and their history, although the various modes of dancing have been covered. There are some great pictures included from over the ages and I would highly recommend the book to anyone interested in tango music or dance.
