5.0 out of 5 stars possibly the best emags book, 5 Sep 2003

(TOP 1000 REVIEWER)
I have about 20 books on electromagnetic theory and my two favourite ones are Stratton (Mc Graw Hill, 1941, still in print) and this one. This book by Balanis is fantastic. It covers waveguides, cavities and scattering in great detail from a mathematical and computational point-of-view. Computer code is included at the end. At the time I read it it was one of the very few books explaining radar cross section, giving analytical and numerical solutions and approaches. Like in his other text on antennas, the style is easygoing and student friendly.
